Max Healthcare Institute and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create an alliance intended to encourage research, capacity building and innovation in the healthcare industry, the healthcare provider said in a statement. 

Under this collaboration, Max Healthcare and IIT Bombay will focus on key areas such as research and development, skill development and training, technology transfer and commercialisation and knowledge sharing and thought leadership.

Dr Sandeep Budhiraja, Group Medical Director from Max Healthcare, said, “We are delighted to partner with IIT Bombay, an institution renowned for its academic excellence and innovation. Adding, Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri, Director of IIT Bombay, added “Over the years, IIT Bombay has put in a significant emphasis on manpower training and research in the health care sector and it has already made several impactful contributions. With the signing of this MoU, we are confident that with further help and collaborative support from our partner, we can have accelerated growth in the healthcare sector, thus benefitting society.”

Prof. Ganesh Ramakrishnan, Institute Chair Professor and Professor-in-Charge, Koita Centre for Digital Health (KCDH), IIT Bombay, said “Collaboration with Max Healthcare will bring clinical expertise and the collaboration aligns well with KCDH’s vision of interdisciplinary research in digital health areas of Healthcare Applications, Healthcare Data Management, Healthcare Analytics & AI/ML (Artificial intelligence/Machine learning), Consumer Health & Telemedicine, Computational Biology & Bioinformatics, Population Health & Public Health Policy.”
